H – Hotel

Habit

  • a settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up.
  • something you do often or regularly, something without knowing that you are doing it (buying a particular toothpaste brand.)
  • an acquired pattern regularly followed unti it becomes almost involuntary.
  • a customary practice or use.
  • (psychology) as a more or less fixed way of thinking, willing or feeling acuired through previous repitition of a mental experience.
  • a regular / settled tendency or practice especially one that is hard to give up.
  • are routine behaviours and are acquired through frequent repitition. Many of those area conscious as we don’t even realise we are doing it.

Habituation

  • is a form of learning in which an organisation decreases or ceases its responses to a stimulus after repeated or prolonged presentations.
  • exposure prolonged – get used to.

Hasty

  • done with excessive speed or urgency; hurried.
  • acting with excessive speed or insufficient consider.
  • done very quickly, generally with little thought or attention.

Hiatus

  • a pause or break in continuity in a squence or activity.
  • a missing part.

High Functioning Sociopath

  • a sociopath is someone who exhibits an antisocial personality disorder, along with antisocial behaviours, little understanding of social norms , and lack of conscience.
  • HFS is someone with identical traits, however, tends to be more intelligent, and better at intergrating with society.

Holistic

  • characterised by the belief that the parts of something are intimately interconnected and explicable only by reference to the whole.
  • relating to the idea that things should be studied as a whole and not just as a sum of their part.
  • all encompassing view based on the knowledge of the nature, functions andproperties of the components, their interactions, and their relationships as a whole.

Honour

  • high respect; great esteem.
  • the quality of knowing and doing what is morally right.
  • something regarded as a rare opportunity and bringing pride and pleasure; privilege.
  • fulfil (an obligation) or keep (an agreement.)
  • being proud.
  • doing what you believe to be right and bening confident that you have done.
  • good name and public esteem.
  • reputation.
  • recognition, priviledge.
  • admiration and great respect.

Hyper – Personality

  • hyperthymic temperament, or hyperthymia = over, meaning excessive – spirited.
  • is a proposed PERSONALITY type characterised by an exceptionally positive mood and disposition.
  • Characteristics of the hyperthymic temperament include increased energy and productivity.

Habitable

  • is a process of gathering and processing all sorts of information about the ways in which people live, interact with each other and with the environment, and the change they live. Designers must constantly redefine livability.
  • It takes living and studying how we live, where we live, what we want with living and how our existence defines the world.
  • To learn about habitable in a meaningful way and thereby reconceive ideas of privacy, shared and public space, they must understand changing lifestyles, mobility, aging populations, shifts in family constituency, presonal, local and global environmental strategies.

Habituate

  • make or become accustomed or used to something.
  • to cause habituation.
  • to accustom by frequent repitition orprolonged use : physiological and psychological.

Harmony

  • the combination of simultaneously sounded musical notes to produce a pleasing effect.
  • a noun that describes an agreement, such as in feeling, sound, look, feel and smell.
  • living together peacefully.
  • a consisted, orderly or pleasing arrangement or parts.

Heteropia

  • places that are neither here nor there, and are simultaneously physical and mental.
  • as sites which are embedded in aspects and stages of our lives and which somehow mirror and at the same time distort, unsettle or invert other spaces.

High Moral Authority

  • the key to maintaining high moral authority is to continually follow ‘true north’ principles.
  • search continuously for the underlaying meaning.
  • The potential for simple, great, quiet moral authority less within each of us.
  • Developing and using these intelligencies will instill within you a quiet confidence, internal strenght and security, the ability to be simultaneously courageous and considerate, and personal moral authority.

Honesty

  • free of deceit; truthful and sincere.
  • someone trustworthy or genuine.
  • ‘honourable and respected.’

Hostility

  • unfriendliness or opposition.
  • showing opposition and dislike.
  • aggressive and angry.

Humanity

  • human beings collectively.
  • the quality of being humane, benevolence.
  • learning concerned with human culture, especially literature, history, art, music and philosophy.

Humble

  • having or showing a modest or lower estimate of one’s importance.
  • cause (someone) to feel less important or proud.
  • reflecting, expressiving or offered in a spirit of deference or submission.
  • not proud or not believing that you are important.
  • someone who knows they are not perfect.

Hyper – Realised

  • post-modern semiotic concept, an inability of consciousness to distinguish reality from a simulation of reality, especially in technologically advanced post modern societies.
  • An image or simulation or an aggregate of images or simulations, that either distorts the reality it purports to depict or does not in fact depict anything with a real existence at all, but which nonetheless comes constitute reality.
  • is a special kind of social reality in which a reality is created or simulated from models or defined by reference to models – a reality generated from ideas.
